THE OVERVIEW
Offered for an appreciating new owner is this collectible classic 1976 Datsun 280Z sports coupe!
This ONE-OWNER California blue license plate 99% rust-free, quite original unmolested example is a fabulous find for the classic Z enthusiast featuring the fuel-injected 2.8 liter inline six cylinder engine mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. The working odometer shows 38.XXX miles which I am told by the owner is 138,XXX original miles. Due to the age of this car I cannot 100% confirm this with Autocheck. This great running and still cool looking little classic is being offered here with a low reserve [about the cost of the sales tax on a new Nissan Z!]

THE BODY AND TRIM
As I hope is articulated in the photos here the body and trim of this always California car are in good, nearly 100% rust-free condition overall. The brown metallic paint is in decent presentable condition overall. There is consierable fading on the top surfaces, several blemishes here and there, missing rear badge and two isolated rust perforations on the left side rocker panel. The aftermarket chrome wheels have some pitting. Tires have decent rubber.
THE INTERIOR
The interior of this 1972 240Z is in somewhat worn quite original condition. As you can see in the photos, the dash has cracking, the seat upholstery is torn in places, the carpets are missing in some areas. The headliner is very good original. All gauges including the working odometer work well. The radio is awol, the steering wheel is dry and cracked on top surface, the door panels have speaker hols cut into them, the rear hatch carpet is tattered.
THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This classic 280Z starts, runs and drives QUITE WELL with good power and willing acceleration from its fuel-injected six cylinder engine. The transmission shifts up and down perfectly with excellent feel, the suspension is FIRM yet free of any clunks, rattles or shimmies. The brakes stop well and straight, the clutch engages smoothly. There is an exhaust manifold gasket air leak producing a flutter sound. I was told about $250 to repair properly. This is a fun car to drive with responsive feel and excellent handling as well. I can see where this car put Datsun...I mean Nissan... on the Japanese sports car market!
