A year and a half from now, I will be posted to an unknown area. Here I will have a decent job and a garage, and am going to build a full SCAA, GTO Bodykit, street legal touring car in a 240 chassis. I have been lurking on this site for awhile, and might as well post a WTB add. This will be my first real build.
I have a year and a half to collect parts from Kingston, Ontario. I have dry garage storage in a farm north of Toronto for the bigger parts. Nelya won’t allow a transmission in the house.
Very clean, rust free, 240z chassis. Preferably rotisserie. I’m looking for a project that someone else has to drop. Hood, fenders, paint not important. Prefer closer to Southern Ontario.
Rebuilt L28 engine, clean – or parts/cam to build a >3.0L ‘L28’. I’m looking for 10:1 compression, I believe. Rebello gave me a rather large quote, as did CraneCame (Back in Business, by the way).
Triple mikuni carbs and manifold.
Performance struts/coilovers. I might just buy this new after I go through the mass of info here on hybridz, but if anyone is forced to sell… I never intend to go over those massive winter speedbumps.
New/rebuilt/very young 5spd transmission. I was thinking about looking for one with Reverse in the upper left (like orginal GTO). More research required.
R150 or R200 LSD.
Steering column, Dash, wiring harness. I’d almost look to buy a nice donor car, but none of the body panels could be used and it would have to be a very very clean/straight chassis.
Full harness seats. I might as well post now, in case someone has an accident in their racer. Sway bars, Pointless distributor, and Capacitive Discharge ignition system (Crane HI-6, Mallory MSD, etc). Spray gun for paint/clear coat (anyone forgot they owned a gun?) Indoor/outdoor work lights. The giant kind that neighbours dislike when used in driveway.
I still have much to read, especially suspension/NA tuning.
I’d consider a nice 240 donor chassis/parts, or nice (wrecked) 280z donor car.
I’m not looking for exhaust, rad, wheels/tires, any body panels, clutch, etc.
Thanks guys! See you in the build pages soon enough!
